Leisha Novy naturopath - IRIDOLOGY
Iridology or iris diagnosis is where a microscope is used to look at a person's eyes. The markings and person's eye colour are observed in order to determine the state of a person's health. Certain areas of a person's iris are considered to refer to different parts and organs within the body, and Charts have then gone on to be mapped representing these areas.
How Iridology developed
It was first observed by a young boy hundreds of years ago who later went on to become a Doctor. He found an Owl with a broken leg and observed a long dark mark in his big eyes. He took the Owl home and looked after it until it's leg healed - but he noticed that as the Owl's leg healed the "long dark mark" in his eye disappeared. He was fascinated and when he became a doctor started to note people's eyes and observed that people with the same disease states had a marking in their eye in the same area.
Different colours mean different things also, for example, white is inflammation and black is degeneration. There may also be some markings in the eye, which we call "lacunae", that we interpret as being inherited pre-disposition signs but they don't necessarily mean you have inherited that condition. It is only if these lacunae start to show changes within these markings, for example they start to change colour, that we then consider you to be showing signs of change within your body. These lacunae also develop "healing signs' within them which resemble hessian as your health improves - it is quite fascinating. There is a wiggly line around the outside of the pupil and this is referred to as the ANW (Autonomic Nervous Wreath) and it tells us about the integrity of the gut and bowel areas.
It is amazing how much can be determined about a person's health from the ANW area alone. If this ANW is close to the pupil the person will have a small digestive capacity and will comment that they eat small meals often whereas a person who's ANW is much further away from the pupil will say they only eat one or two meals a day as it takes them all day to digest it. In a blue eyed person it is also often easy to detect if they are suffering from reflux as it shows as a bright white between the ANW and the pupil, with white meaning inflammation. If the actual ANW itself is white then it means their stomach lining is inflamed as a result of having this overproduction of stomach acid. Conversely, if the area between the ANW and the pupil is dark then it means an under-acid stomach which can result in Iron and Calcium deficiency and Candida overgrowth. They are also unable to break protein down due to lack of stomach acid so are prone to a feeling of fullness after eating them. It is amazing how accurate Iridology is when looking for bowel polyps, with them being represented as little dark markings like a little brick, in the area between the ANW and the pupil.
I have a close friend who flew overseas for some Plastic Surgery on the quiet without telling anyone including myself. Upon her return she visited my office requesting I perform an Iridology Assessment as she "wasn't feeling quite right". I saw two black spots in her eye in the "lung area" and recommended that she get a chest X-ray. Her Doctor was a friend of hers so she rang him and informed him of my request. He knew she had flown overseas whereas I didn't and he then ordered an Urgent CT Scan. She was admitted to hospital a few hours later with blood clots, one in her lungs and one not far from her heart. The hospital informed her she probably wouldn't have lived through the night and should go buy a lottery ticket!! She spent a week in hospital and then came in for another Iridology a few weeks later and the black spots were gone. Flat sides on the pupil means your back is "out" and it is extremely accurate, in fact I told one of the Doctors at work that his back was out seventeen years ago when I started at the Medical Clinic. He was very sceptical to say the least about Iridology and informed me that there was" nothing wrong with his back". He now often relays the story of how, the next day, the pain started and it has never let up!!!!
I personally find I use Iridology not as a "diagnostic tool" but as a confirmation of what I suspect is wrong with a person after having taken a detailed Case History. I must admit though, sometimes I still discover things that I hadn't suspected.
